Program Tests Professionals' Asset Management Knowledge

Oct 1, 2008 12:00 PM

Circuit protection manufacturer Ferraz Shawmut, Newburyport, Mass., has set out to challenge customers to see if they're up to speed on asset management. Through the Protection Intelligence Quotient (PIQ) program, electrical professionals, engineers, plant managers and OEMs discover how much they know about the hazards that can hurt people, equipment and investments.

Participants can access the online test at us.ferrazshawmut.com/PIQ. Each month through the end of the year, one winner receives a $300 gas card. Ferraz Shawmut will also award one grand prize trip to Richard Petty Driving Experience in Daytona, Fla. Three winners have already been named: F. Boyd from Rome, Ga.; K. Wuerminghausen from Massillon, Ohio; and C. Hogan from Kansas City, Mo.

Participants have responded positively to the program. “When reading feedback from the PIQ test takers it's clear that we're filling a need that electricians, engineers, maintenance personnel and others have for protection and safety information,” says Stephen Colvin, vice president of marketing at Ferraz Shawmut. “All of our jobs involve electricity, but our professions are protection, and Ferraz Shawmut is committed to supplying the products and knowledge to help our customers become better resources for those they serve.”

The program runs through Dec. 31, 2008, and there's no purchase necessary to enter.
