Claude Thompson, vice chairman of the board and co-owner with her daughter, Cheryl Thompson-Draper, of Warren Electric Group, Houston, Texas, celebrated her 85th birthday in a big way with a Youth Bowling fundraiser attended by 300 of her friends. Thompson has been bowling for the past 50 years and currently belongs to four leagues in the Houston area. She continues to compete in the Texas Ten Pin tournament, and other city and state competitions.
The event raised approximately $10,000 in her honor. The money will be donated to various children's organizations and schools. Over the past year, Thompson has been honored by Texas A&M University's Engineering Technology & Industrial Distribution department and by Houston Baptist University for her outstanding contributions to the schools. Warren Electric claims to be the largest woman-owned and managed electrical distributorship in the country.
