Electrical Wholesaling; Allen Ray Associates, Arlington, Texas; and Channel Marketing Group, Raleigh, N.C., need your help on a joint industry-wide survey that’s exploring electronic invoicing in the electrical wholesaling industry.

Early results from the electrical contractors who responded to the survey indicate larger contractors with annual sales of at least $26 million per year that receive more than 500 paper invoices per month want electronic invoices from electrical distributors that are importable into their accounting packages. This improves cash flow and reduces billing errors for electrical distributors, thereby improving productivity and potentially reducing DSOs (daily sales outstanding).

The results of this research will be published in Electrical Wholesaling and used by the Industry Data Exchange Association (IDEA), Rosslyn, Va., to consider new services.
