Ideal Industries Inc., Sycamore, Ill., is broadening its offering in the test and measurement equipment market by acquiring Casella Measurement Ltd.

Based in Bedford, Great Britain, Casella Measurement employs 130 workers and operates Casella CEL, a manufacturer of health and safety monitoring products; Casella ETi, a supplier of air quality systems and services; Monitor Europe, a manufacturer of ambient gas analyzers; Darwin Hire; Casella USA; and Casella Espana.

Ideal said no restructuring is expected from the acquisition, and all businesses will continue to trade as usual. With headquarters in England, Casella also has sales, distribution and service operations in Spain.

Ideal has acquired other companies in the test and measurement market over the years. About six years ago, the company acquired the SureTest product line from Industrial Commercial Electronics Inc. of Tonowanda, N.Y. In 2001, the company acquired the LAN division of Wavetek, San Diego, and in 2004 the company acquired Trend Communications Ltd.
