Michael Gambino has returned to Pass & Seymour/Legrand as its new president and chief executive officer after leaving the company five years ago to start his own consulting firm and create bestroute.com, an online stocking distributorship of hard-to-find electrical products.

Gambino served as Pass & Seymour/Legrand's vice president of sales and marketing from 1992 to 1996.

Gambino started his new position at Pass & Seymour/Legrand on Jan. 1. Tom Edmonds had been acting president of the company.

“It's the only job in corporate America I would consider,” Gambino said. “I like the people, I like the company, I like the industry. It's one of those matches that makes a lot of sense for all of us.”

Gambino plans to build on the foundation that P&S developed over the past 10 years. “This is not a turnaround situation,” he said. “This is building on a great foundation and trying to position another leader in the industry. That's really what we want to do. We want to be a good contributor to the industry in all ways, but also be a highly valued company to its customers.”
