Hagemeyer N.V. (the Netherlands): Joel Bateman has been appointed to the newly created position of chairman, global supply solutions committee. Formerly executive vice president, marketing and global business development for Hagemeyer North America (HNA), Bateman will continue to work from his office at HNA's operating headquarters in Charleston, SC.

National Electrical Manufacturers Representatives Association (NEMRA) (Tarrytown, N.Y.): NEMRA announced its board of directors for 2003-2004 at its Annual Conference in Washington, D.C. WAC Lighting (Garden City, N.Y.): Chas Bernstein has been named vice president of sales and marketing to succeed Leonard Schwartz, who plans to retire at the end of 2003. Bernstein brings 30 years of lighting experience, including eight years with Lightolier/Genlyte where he served as vice president, general manager of the lighting group and regional sales manager.

M.K. Morse Co. (Canton, Ohio): Peter Heenan has been named director of marketing. Heenan joins the manufacturer of saw blades having previously worked at Greenfield Industries as both a product manager for the drill division and manager of marketing for the industrial saw blade division.

Howard Industries (Laurel, Miss.): The company has expanded its sales management team with the addition of Scott Stephens as national accounts manager. Stephens' primary responsibility will be the development of specification for Howard Ballast Products at the national account level. Scott joins Howard Industries with an extensive career of sales management experience in the lighting industry, including assignments with Allanson Transformer, Advance Transformer, Valmont Electric, GE Lighting and Lithonia Lighting.

JJI Lighting (Greenwich, Conn.): James F. Haworth has been elected president and chief executive officer by the company's board of directors. He joined the company's Alkco Lighting division in January 1993. He held several progressive management positions at Alkco culminating in vice president, general manager. Most recently, he served as group vice president for JJI's Indoor Lighting Group, which includes Alkco Lighting, Guth Lighting, Morlite Systems Inc., Specialty Lighting and Vista Lighting.

Kirby Risk Electrical Supply (Lafayette, Ind.): The electrical distributor has announced the following promotions: Dan Hoppe has been appointed strategic sales manager for the Illinois/western Indiana district. With Kirby Risk since 1998, Hoppe most recently was division area manager for the Peoria, Bloomington, Macomb and Danville, Ill., locations. Rich Antonaros has accepted the position of branch manager for the South Bend, Ind., location. Most recently, he was branch manager for Englewood Electrical Supply in Kokomo and Indianapolis, Ind. Chan Gill has been appointed area sales manager for central Illinois. Joining Kirby Risk in 1996, Gill most recently was an account manager for the Peoria and Bloomington, Ill., locations.

Jefferson Electric (Franklin, Wis.): George Mergel has been named vice president — sales and marketing. In addition to leading, directing and managing the daily sales operations and future growth of the company, Mergel will be responsible for identifying and nurturing new domestic and international markets for Jefferson Electric products. Steve Henry recently joined the company as Central regional sales manager, with his office located in the Chicago area. Most recently with Cooper Wiring Devices, he will be responsible for marketing, product information and application assistance to authorized Jefferson representatives and distributors, as well as direct assistance to selected OEMs.

Dominion Electric Supply (Arlington, Va.): Don Turansky has joined Dominion Electric Supply as switchgear department manager. With more than 24 years experience, Turansky worked as a sales engineer for Square D Co. in various construction markets, including Philadelphia, the San Francisco Bay area and Washington, D.C., before joining Dominion. Additionally, four Dominion employees recently earned the designation of lighting specialist from the American Lighting Association (ALA). Combined, Laura Overly, Amanda Leonard, Chi Chi Luong and Marcia Hussey have more than 35 years lighting industry experience and currently work in Dominion's residential lighting showrooms. The education they received from the ALA focuses on the latest lighting technology, industry trends and selling skills.

Hagemeyer North America (HNA) Inc. (Charleston, S.C.): Neil Longson has been appointed senior vice president, marketing. Formerly the president of Hagemeyer North America Marketing Co., Longson came to Hagemeyer in March 2002 from Anixter International Inc. where he was senior vice president, market development.

Pentadyne Power Corp. (Chatsworth, Calif.): Michael Daish has been appointed director of sales. Daish joins Pentadyne as it enters field trials with an advanced design flywheel power system.

Cooper Wiring Devices (Long Island City, N.Y.): David Roark has been appointed sales representative for the Houston-Southeast Texas market. Roark has more than 25 years experience in the electrical industry. A part of the Cooper-Wiring-Devices team since 1996, Rick McDonnell has been promoted to vice president of the consumer sales division. Previously, he served as director of the division.

Lutron Electronics (Coopersburg, Pa.): Dave Odess has been promoted to vice president of international sales. With Lutron since 1995, Odess most recently was director of European operations. In his new role, Odess will drive sales worldwide, expanding to establish offices in China.

Vista Lighting (Erie, Pa.): Boyd A. Armstrong Jr. has been appointed vice president, controller for Vista Lighting as well as its sister company Morlite Systems Inc. Armstrong most recently was controller and chief financial officer for ChipBlaster Inc.

Coleman Cable Inc. (Waukegan, Ill.): Dave Oriatti has been appointed director of sales, national accounts. With more than 10 years in the electrical industry, Oriatti most recently was national sales manager for Hirschmann Electronics Inc.

Holophane (Newark, Ohio): Robert Drago and Jon Memsic have been named to lead the company's national sales program as vice presidents of sales for the Eastern and Western regions, respectively.
