Promotions and new appointments.

EGS Electrical Group , a division of Emerson Industrial Automation (Rosemont, Ill.): EGS Electrical Group announced two promotions within its marketing and product development teams. Rich Andrew has been appointed lighting product manager for Appleton Lighting with responsibilities to help enhance and grow its portfolio of products and to better position the organization in global markets. Andrew joined EGS in 2004 as a product support specialist. John Dobson has been promoted to senior director of hazardous location products. Dobson has worked for EGS Electrical Group for 21 years in sales and management roles within its Canadian organization. In his new role, he will have global responsibility for strategic direction of new product development and product management. He is located in Elmira, Canada.

Schneider Electric North American Operating Division (Palatine, Ill.): Amelia A. Huntington has been promoted to chief operating officer for the North American Operating Division and president of Schneider Electric USA. Chris Curtis will remain CEO of the North American Operating Division, as well as assume additional responsibilities in leading Schneider Electric's global Building Automation and Energy Efficiency business. Curtis is also a member of the Schneider Electric Executive Committee. Huntington will have North American Operating Division managerial responsibility for the United States, Canada, Mexico, Juno Lighting Group and several other core Division functions and business operations.

Leviton Manufacturing Co. Inc. (Little Neck, N.Y.): Willy Frogner has been appointed to lead the company's expansion into Europe. As business development manager for European sales, headquartered in Oslo, Frogner will spearhead sales of the company's line of residential home networking and commercial voice and data products throughout the European continent. Frogner brings to his new post with Leviton more than 25 years of experience developing, marketing and selling electrical products. Prior to joining Leviton, he worked for the CETgroup as a sales manager for their Norwegian operations. He also held positions as a marketing manager for Schneider Electric and as a product manager for Norwesco.

Hubbell Electrical Products- RACO Division (Orange, Conn.): Don Brody, vice president of sales, Electrical Distribution and Ken Economou, vice president of sales, Retail, retired at the end of 2008. Brody retired from Hubbell Electrical Products after being with the company for more than 36 years. He transferred to RACO from Hubbell Wiring Devices in 1985. Economou retired from Hubbell Electrical Products. Economou joined the Hubbell team in 1989.

General Cable Corp. (Highland Heights, Ky.): Lance G. Bates has joined the company as vice president, U.S. sales. Bates will report to Gregory J. Lampert, executive vice president of the company, and president and CEO, General Cable North America. Bates has more than 18 years' experience in sales leadership. Since 2007, he has held the position of president and COO, Global Accounts and Strategic Markets Divisions, for Cintas Corp., Cincinnati.

B&K Electric Wholesale (City of Industry, Calif.): The company has announced the following appointments: Todd Brown has been named president. For the past four years, Brown has been the vice president of the company's Rockwell region. Previously he came from the test and measurement industry. Kathleen Ellison will maintain the position of CEO. Glen Mayfield will be promoted to vice president of sales of the Rockwell Region. He was most recently the Rockwell Automation Group director. Ryan Wright will be promoted to vice president of operations. Wright was most recently the director of IT. Ray Tuider, regional vice president of the company's Square D Region, is now vice president of sales for the Square D Region.

Ferraz Shawmut (Newburyport, Mass.): Dean Cousins has been promoted to senior vice president of marketing and business development, and Jim Kosciolek to vice president of sales. Cousins will oversee Ferraz Shawmut's marketing activities. Formerly, Cousins has held the positions of vice president of OEM sales and vice president of business development. Kosciolek will manage Ferraz Shawmut's sales operation within the United States and Mexico. Kosciolek most recently served as the vice president of distribution sales.

NorthEast-Eagle Electrical Distributors, a subsidiary of Sonepar USA (Canton, Mass.): Fred Nabavi will succeed Carl Svendsen as director of Automation Solutions. During his last six years with Eagle, Nabavi has successfully managed sales teams that sold full suites of factory automation products and software. His core focus will be increasing business performance with Rockwell Automation's portfolio of offerings and execution of strategic account plans. He will report to Shawn Mumma, vice president of NorthEast-Eagle. Svendsen will maintain a part-time role with the company.

Arlington Industries (Scranton, Pa.): Bruce Dean has been appointed Canadian national sales manager. He will manage the Arlington product line with the six representatives in Canada selling to the electrical distributor network. Dean has worked in the electrical industry since 1978. Most recently he was the sales manager for Leonard Electric. Prior to that, he spent 16 years with Westburne, holding various sales and marketing positions in the electronic and electrical divisions.
