Cooper Wiring Devices (Long Island City, N.Y.): Jeffrey Roberts has been appointed executive vice president of Cooper Wiring Devices. Formerly with Emerson Electric Co. as vice president and general manager of Emerson's air moving motors division, Roberts will be responsible for all sales, marketing and engineering activities. Roberts succeeds Parag Mehta, who recently resigned after eight years as executive vice president. Mehta played an important role in integrating the Eagle and Arrow Hart product lines and introducing the new Cooper Wiring Devices brand.

Noland Co. (Newport News, Va.): John Martin has been named regional manager for the company's south central region, which covers Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi and Tennessee. Martin joined Noland in 1997. Most recently, he served as manager of the Nashville complex, which includes satellite branches in Franklin and Clarksville, Tenn; and Bowling Green, Ky. Richard Sturges succeeds Martin as manager of the Nashville complex. Previously, Sturges managed Noland's Decatur complex of branches.

FCI-Burndy Products (Manchester, N.H.): Ben Crutcher was appointed utility market manager, responsible for setting the strategy, tactics, and new product development for FCI's core utility market segment. He comes to FCI with a 25-year background in marketing and sales.

EGS Electrical Group (Skokie, Ill.): Two key appointments have been made to EGS Electrical Group's Appleton and O-Z/Gedney sales and marketing team. Tim Rooney was named vice president of sales with initial responsibility for the company's central region. He joins EGS with more than 25 years of electrical industry experience, most recently as vice president of national accounts for Cooper Industries. Following a transitional period, Rooney will assume responsibility for all national sales. Additionally, John Peterson was named vice president of sales, Gulf Coast region. Peterson is a 15-year veteran of Cooper Industries and Crouse Hinds, as well as the former president of Warren Electric.

Acuity Brands Inc. (Atlanta): Jay Davis has been elected to the board of directors. Davis is chairman and chief executive officer of National Distributing Co. Inc. (NDC), the third largest U.S. distributor of alcoholic beverages.

i2 Trade Service (San Diego, Calif.): i2 Trade Service has appointed two new supplier business development managers to promote its recently launched i2 Distributor Catalog marketing program. Al Stumm brings 20 years of national catalog marketing experience. Bill Liberator has more than 30 years of business-to-business marketing experience, 15 of which working directly for the industrial distribution industry in inside sales, outside sales and management.

Washington Cable Supply Inc. (Lanham, Md.): Scott Harris joined the company as its new president, bringing 19 years of experience. Most recently, he was principal, Scottswood Consulting.

Platt Electric Supply Inc. (Beaverton, Ore.): The distributor has appointed branch managers for its four new branches, which opened in August. After one and a half years with Platt Electric, Kyle Holwagner will manage the Missoula, Mont., branch. Amanda Gorton, an 18-year Platt veteran will manage the Livermore, Calif., branch. Phil Jasperson, a 14-year Platt veteran, will manage the Chehalis, Wash., branch. Nate Mayes, who has been with Platt Electric for one and a half years, will manage the Wenatchee, Wash., branch location.

Hughes Supply Inc. (Orlando, Fla.): Dale Jones has been appointed to the Hughes Supply board of directors. Jones replaces Toni Jennings, who resigned in May to serve as Florida's lieutenant governor. Jones currently serves as managing partner of Heidrick & Struggles International Inc. for the southeast area. Ronald Spencer is now the branch manager at the electrical and plumbing branch in Lady Lake, Fla. Previously, he was an operations manager for Ferguson Enterprises. Additionally, Tom Davis is now branch manager at the electrical and plumbing branch in Clearwater, Fla. Previously, he was a general manager for a large plumbing contractor in North Carolina.
