Fromm Electric Supply Corp. (Reading, Pa.): Jim Giuffrida has been appointed purchasing and inventory manager, responsible for procurement, logistics and inventory control. Giuffrida previously held various positions with Carpenter Technology, including warehouse and information systems management.

Philips Lighting Co. (Somerset, N.J.): Robert A. Taylor has been appointed senior vice president and general manager of consumer lighting. In this role, he will oversee all aspects of consumer lighting market operations.

Quality Lighting, a division of the JJI Lighting Group Inc. (Franklin Park, Ill.): Brian Deady has been named director of sales, with overall responsibility for sales and marketing of the company's products throughout the United States and Canada.

Noland Co. (Newport News, Va.): After 44 years of service, William Overman retired from Noland Co. July 1. Overman had headed up the purchasing division since 1987. Roger Gibbs succeeds Overman as director of sourcing. Gibbs had been preparing for this new post since February when he joined Noland after nearly 30 years with Hughes Supply Co. In another personnel change, Ronald Fisher was named manager of Noland's Charlottesville and Verona, Va., branches. Fisher joined Noland in 1995.

NESCO Inc. (Canton, Mass.): Nancy Ramdon joins NESCO as manager, business development in NESCO's new West Coast office in San Francisco. Ramdon is a 15-year veteran in the national account marketplace.

Zeller Corp. (Rochester, N.Y.): Dan Shaughnessy has been named branch manager of Zeller's Syracuse office. Shaughnessy was previously product specialist manager. Brian Blaisdell is also joining the Syracuse team. Blaisdell comes to Zeller from Square D and will work with customers regarding applications for controls, power distribution and drives.

Klein Tools (Chicago, Ill.): Lawrence Wegner has been promoted to director of marketing. Wegner has more than 20 years marketing management experience in the professional building and electrical products industries.

Van Meter Industrial (Cedar Rapids, Iowa): Barry Boyer has been appointed president and chief executive officer, succeeding Jim Schmitt, who retired July 1. Boyer has been with Van Meter 11 years and within the industry for more than 20 years.

Vanguard Distribution Group LLC: Vanguard Distribution Group, a collaboration group of 18 independent Rockwell Automation Distributors, confirmed its officers and board of directors in late July. Barry Boyer, newly named president of Van Meter Industrial, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, was named chairman. Michael Fromm, president of Fromm Electric Supply Co. of Reading, Pa., was named vice chairman. Dick Wilson, chairman, Horizon Solutions, Rochester, N.Y., was named treasurer. Jack Lawson, president of Electric Equipment Co., Richmond, Va., remains as secretary. Richard Dahlstrom, vice president of sales for McNaughton-McKay Electric Co., Madison Heights, Mich., was confirmed as a board member. Bill French, president of French Gerleman, St. Louis; and Sam McCamy III, president of Roden Electrical Supply Co., Knoxville, Tenn., continue as board members at large.

GE Supply (Shelton, Conn.): Jeff Schaper has been named president of GE Supply, succeeding Bill Meddaugh, who retired after 37 years with the company. Schaper, a 30-year GE veteran, served most recently as chief commercial officer for GE worldwide. Lou-Anne Annino has been named national sourcing manager for its electrical distribution business and will be responsible for sourcing, operational quality and cost/catalog. Annino most recently served as the distributor's operational quality leader, leading initiatives focusing on improved inventory and purchasing processes.

E-Mon (Langhorne, Pa.): Eugene “Gene” Foley Jr. has been appointed to the newly created position of federal facilities manager. Based in the Washington, D.C., area, Foley will develop marketing and educational programs targeting federal energy managers to drive submeter sales through local distributors. Foley has more than 20 years industry experience.

Electro-Federation Canada (EFC) (Mississauga, Ontario): John Hanna, chief executive officer for Rexel Canada Electrical Inc. has been elected to Electro-Federation Canada's board of directors. Hanna replaces Chris Jouppi of Eaton-Cutler Hammer.

Westinghouse Lighting Corp. (Philadelphia): Allen Severance joins Westinghouse Lighting Corp. as Midwest regional sales manager. Previously, Severance was Western district sales manager for Intermatic Inc.

The Wiremold Co. (West Hartford, Conn.): Michael Gambino, president and chief executive officer of Pass & Seymour, will also assume the role of The Wiremold Co.'s president. Gambino will replace Gary Brooks, who announced he will transition out of the company by the end of the year. In this dual-president role, Gambino will lead a new internal Electrical Wiring Systems division within Legrand North America comprised of Pass & Seymour and Wiremold. Also at Wiremold, John Hoffman has been appointed vice president of marketing. He succeeds Ed Miller, vice president of sales and marketing, who is leaving the company to pursue other interests.

Lutron Electronics Co. (Coopersburg, Pa.): As part of the reorganization of its Chicago-area sales force and creation of a new Lutron specification team, Lutron Electronics Co. announced the following appointments. Paul Trively, vice president of specification sales will head the specification team. Hammond Meuer, Lutron's central region commercial sales leader, will continue coordinating commercial specification sales and expanding the market in the central region, which includes 10 states. Brian Dauskurdas and Eric Jerger will be calling on engineers and specifiers in Chicago. Previously, Dauskurdas had been calling on major specifiers and colleges and universities in Boston. Jerger had been handling specification accounts in four states. Lori Christopherson will continue to work primarily with local architects, interior designers and other specifiers. Danielle Dempsey, an integrated systems specialist, will provide application and design support, assisting with job layout and specifications.

Post Glover Resistors (Erlanger, Ky.): After more than 12 years leading the sales and marketing team as vice president of sales and marketing, Mark Meister has decided to leave Post Glover effective Oct. 31 to start his own business (Meister International), which will serve the global power industry. Scott Fuller, who recently joined Post Glover, assumes the duties of vice president, sales and marketing. Fuller has more than 20 years experience in the industrial and electrical market.

Hoffman Engineering (Anoka, Minn.): Peggy Baratta has been appointed central regional sales manager for Hoffman's Electrical Division, focusing her efforts on the development of business opportunities in the Michigan, Ohio and Kentucky markets. Previously, Baratta served as Hoffman's regional distribution manager.

Kirby Risk (Lafayette, Ind.): Mike Plaster was promoted to the new position of director, contractor management. The five-year Kirby Risk veteran most recently was manager of the regional distribution center. Doug Gutridge has accepted additional duties of managing the regional distribution center in Indianapolis. Gutridge will continue his current responsibilities as vice president, human resources. Ed Zink has been appointed area sales manager of Indianapolis. Zink was most recently branch manager at the Crawfordsville, Ind., location. Rick Orbik has been appointed area sales manager for the following Indiana locations: Columbus, Muncie, New Castle, Richmond and Connersville. Most recently, he served as branch manager of the Richmond location. Russ Brummett has accepted the position of branch manager for the Indianapolis and Shelbyville, Ind., locations. Previously, he was branch manager for the Columbus branch.

United Electric Supply Co. (New Castle, Del.): The employee-owned distributorship has announced several key promotions by its board of directors. United Electric President and Chief Executive Officer Thomas Cloud has assumed the position of chairman and CEO. With 29 years of United Electric financial and operational experience, Cloud is also the incoming chairman of the National Association of Electrical Distributors (NAED). Gene Bruni, a 30-year United Electric, was unanimously approved as the new president. Most recently, he was senior vice president of sales and marketing. Bob Crawford was promoted to vice president, operations. Crawford is now responsible for branch operations in Wilmington, Fenwick and Dover, Del.; Lancaster, Pa.; and Baltimore, Beltsville, Waldorf and Rockville, Md.
