National Association of Electrical Distributors (NAED, St. Louis, Mo.): Glenn Goedecke, division manager of Mayer Electric Supply Co. Inc., Birmingham,

National Association of Electrical Distributors (NAED, St. Louis, Mo.): Glenn Goedecke, division manager of Mayer Electric Supply Co. Inc., Birmingham, Ala., has been named the incoming vice president-elect for the association's South Central Region. Goedecke will lead the region in 2007-2008. The South Central Region is currently headed by Mike Ales, vice president of purchasing and operations for Werner Electric Supply, Neenah, Wis. In May, George Adams Jr., president and CEO of the Florida-based Electric Supply of Tampa Inc., will become South Central Region vice president for the 2006-2007 year.

Summit Electric Supply (Albuquerque, N.M.): Larry Keils has been promoted to senior product manager. Previously, Keils was inventory control manager at Summit's service center in Dallas. Keils joins Scott Van Deventer, Summit's other senior product manager. The two are charged with directing the management of inventory at the distributor's 19 locations across the Southwest and Gulf Coast. Keils will remain in Dallas while Van Deventer works out of the company's headquarters in Albuquerque. Additionally, Jorge Guajardo has been appointed service center leader of Summit Electric's Corpus Christi, Texas, service center. He succeeds Mark Lambert, who is relocating to Summit's Albuquerque headquarters to help with Summit's conversion to the SAP enterprise software package. Guajardo most recently served as account manager.

Progress Lighting (Spartanburg, S.C.): Amber Adams recently joined Progress Lighting in a newly created position as showroom program coordinator. She will be developing and managing marketing programs for builder design centers, lighting showrooms and bath and plumbing showrooms.

Greenlee (Rockford, Ill.): Chera M. Ellis has been promoted to director of marketing. Ellis joined Greenlee in October 2000 as senior product manager, DSV tools, and most recently held the position of senior product manager, test and measurement.

Industry Data Exchange Association (IDEA, Rosslyn, Va.): Steve Horton, formerly of Integrated Software Systems (ISS), joins IDEA as business development director. IDEA reports that the addition of Horton is a result of IDEA's acquisition of ISS' assets and Horton's strong foundation within the industry.

Cooper Wiring Devices (Peachtree City, Ga.): Barry MacGowan has been appointed national sales manager, Canadian electrical distribution sales organization. Previously, MacGowan served FCI-Burndy for 16 years as a regional sales manager, where he was honored as the regional manager of the year numerous times and had a track record of growing profitable sales by targeting end users and specifiers.

Berk-Tek (New Holland, Pa.): The Wire and Cable Manufacturers Alliance Inc. (WCMA) named Kevin St. Cyr, president of Berk-Tek, as one of the recipients of the 2006 Charles D. Scott Distinguished Career awards. This award recognizes industry professionals who have made significant commercial or technical contributions to the wire and cable industry.

Stahlin Non-Metallic Enclosures (Belding, Mich.): A six-year Stahlin veteran, Michael Jackson has been appointed product marketing manager. Additionally, Jackson currently serves on the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) enclosures section committee (NEMA 250) as well as IEC 60529 TC70 (US) international committee for industrial electrical enclosures and is an active member of the American Composites Manufacturers Association (ACMA). Additionally, with more than 15 years of experience in the electrical enclosures industry, Jeffrey Seagle has been named president. Prior to this appointment, Seagle was Stahlin's general manager and has led the company to significant growth.

Robroy Industries (Verona, Pa.): Rob McIlroy has been promoted to vice president and was elected to the Robroy board of directors. McIlroy has 13 years of experience at Robroy Industries. Prior to this appointment, he served as national sales manager for the PVC coated conduit business group. His new focus will be on inter-divisional and corporate issues. Additionally, Robroy's conduit division has promoted Kelly Jones to production supervisor of its Gilmer, Texas, plant. Jones has worked for Robroy for almost 19 years, most recently as assistant production supervisor.

Staco Energy Products Co. (Dayton, Ohio): A UPS industry veteran, Jim Jones has been appointed Western regional manager. He will be based in Dallas.

Jefferson Electric (Franklin, Wis.): George Mergel, vice president of sales and marketing retired April 1 after more than 40 years in the electrical industry. His career includes time with companies like Sylvania Electric, Acme Electric and Gould Shawmut. He joined Jefferson Electric in 1998.

NorthEast Electrical Distributors/Eagle Electric Supply (Canton, Mass.): Several organizational changes at NorthEast Electrical Distributors/Eagle Electric Supply have been announced. Frank Marandino has been appointed vice president of operations. Previously, Marandino was vice president of procurement. Pat Blake, vice president of sales, has assumed responsibility for the NorthEast Electrical eastern Massachusetts and New Hampshire markets. Shawn Mumma will continue his role as vice president of sales for Eagle Electric Supply and will be responsible for the NorthEast Electrical Connecticut market. Marty Mesale, vice president of sales will be responsible for NorthEast Electrical central/southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island markets. Bob Holehouse, vice president of strategic accounts, will be responsible for the development of the company's strategic account initiative.

Roden Electrical Supply Co. (Knoxville, Tenn.): Neil Gillespie has been named vice president, marketing and strategic development. Gillespie had consulted for Roden since 1995 as one of the principals of Channel Marketing Group, Pittsburgh.

Ideal Industries Inc. (Sycamore, Ill.): With more than 13 years of experience in the electrical industry, Warren Jenkins has been named central regional manager. Jenkins comes to Ideal from FCI/Burndy Products where he also served as central regional manager.

NAED Awards

The National Association of Electrical Distributors (NAED), St. Louis, will honor seven industry leaders at its Annual Meeting in Orlando, Fla., April 22-26.

Robert L. Lemman, chairman of the board of North Coast Electric Co., Seattle, Wash., will receive NAED's highest honor, the Arthur W. Hooper Award, which is presented to an individual who has led an exceptional career in electrical distribution spanning many years. During his 59-year career, Lemman has served NAED in various capacities that include eight years as a member of the board of directors executive committee, chairman of the Education & Research Committee and NAED chairman in 1981 and 1982. When price controls were rampant during the 1970s, Lemman lobbied Washington on behalf of electrical distributors.

Kathleen Ellison, president and chief executive officer of B&K Electric Wholesale, City of Industry, Calif., will receive the Distinguished Service Award, which recognizes outstanding and dedicated service to the association and the electrical industry.

Timothy H. Powers, chairman, CEO and president of Hubbell Inc., will receive the 2006 NAED Award of Merit, which is given to an individual in the electrical manufacturing business who has been exceptionally active in promoting and supporting wholesale distribution in the electrical distribution industry.

Richard L. Angel, senior vice president of Lutron Electronics Co. Inc., will receive the Associate Award, which is granted to an individual associated with an electrical manufacturing company who has made outstanding contributions to NAED and the electrical industry.

The following three individuals will receive NAED's Honorary Life Awards, which recognize retiring distributors and manufacturers who have made exceptional contributions to the channel during their careers: Donald G. March, retired president and chairman of Seaman's Supply Co. Inc., Manchester, N.H.; William Trotman, retired president and CEO of Ferraz-Shawmut Inc.; and William J. Curley, retired vice president, sales and strategic alliances, Republic Conduit.
