Advance Transformer Co. (Rosemont, Ill.): Brian Dundon has been named president. In addition to his role at Advance, he will serve as chief executive

Advance Transformer Co. (Rosemont, Ill.): Brian Dundon has been named president. In addition to his role at Advance, he will serve as chief executive officer of Philips' Business Unit Lighting Electronics, North America. Prior to joining Philips, Dundon was corporate vice president and group president at MagneTek Inc. Upon leaving MagneTek, he founded a private consulting firm, working with business leaders on a variety of strategic corporate initiatives.

Essco Wholesale Electric, a group of independently owned corporations (Gilbert, Ariz.): The company announces several new appointments. Tim Tapia was named chief executive officer/chairman and Scott Tonn was appointed president of the following: Essco of Arizona Inc., Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; Essco Wholesale Electric Inc., Kingman, Ariz.; Essco Electric Wholesale Inc., Glendale, Ariz.; Essco-Chandler Inc., Chandler, Ariz.; Essco-Bullhead Inc., Bullhead City, Ariz.; Essco Wholesale Electric, Anaheim, Calif.; Essco of the Desert Inc., Indio, Calif.; Essco-Palm Desert Inc., Thousand Palms, Calif.; Essco-Grand Terrace, Grand Terrace, Calif.; and Essco-Southbay Inc., Torrance, Calif. The new branch manager of Essco of the Desert Inc. in Indio, Calif., is John Hyland. Jody Bryant has been named manager of Essco Wholesale Electric in Anaheim, Calif.

Ferraz Shawmut (Newburyport, Mass.): Bill Trotman has been promoted to president and chief executive officer for North America. The promotion will allow Trotman to focus on North American operations while continuing to provide strategic market development guidance globally. Previously, Trotman served as president of Ferraz Shawmut and executive vice president of global market development.

Galvan Industries Inc. (Harrisburg, N.C.): James Lund has been appointed national sales manager for the electrical products division. He was previously a sales representative with FCI Burndy.

IMARK Group Inc. (Oxon Hill, Md.): Stephen Ruane has been named vice president of marketing. From 1997 through January of this year, Ruane was director of marketing and then vice president of marketing for Affiliated Distributors. Before that, he spent five years with Ideal Industries as marketing manager for the electrical distribution channel.

Kirby Risk Electrical Supply (Lafayette, Ind.): Patti Graff has been promoted to marketing services manager. She was most recently sales support team leader for the company. Russ Brummett has been named division manager at Kirby Risk's Columbus, Ind., location. He was previously warehouse manager for the Columbus, Ind., location.

LAM Lighting Systems, a subsidiary of the JJI Lighting Group Inc. (Santa Ana, Calif.): Craig Brauks has been named vice president, general manager. Before joining LAM, he served for the past 15 years in various management capacities with the Guth Lighting subsidiary of JJI.

Service Wire Co. (Culloden, W. Va.): Tom Fitzgerald has been promoted to sales representative. Fitzgerald most recently served as quality assurance manager at their Culloden facility. In Houston, the company has named David Hazelip its sales representative for central and east Texas, northern Louisiana, Arkansas and Oklahoma. Hazelip has been with Service Wire for 10 years.

The Independent Electrical Contractors Inc. (IEC) (Alexandria, Va.): Lisa Washington has been named vice president of education. Washington, who has more than 10 years of experience in association management, will fill the specialized position at the IEC national office.

ALP Lighting Components Inc. (Niles, Ill.): Jim Waterhouse has been appointed western regional sales manager. He was most recently district sales manager at Wide-Lite.

Shealy Electrical Wholesalers Inc. (Greenville, S.C.): John Younginer III has been appointed vice president of industrial sales. He has 15 years of distribution experience and was previously a manager with Cameron & Barkley.

A.O. Smith Electrical Products (Milwaukee, Wis.): Fred Davidson has been appointed vice president of information technology. He was most recently vice president of global technology and infrastructure at NCR Corp.

Holophane (Newark, Ohio): Brad Grainger has been promoted to regional sales manager for the plains region. He was previously a sales representative for the company's Ozark territory. Russell Lowe has been named regional sales manager for Holophane's region 12, which is comprised of most of Florida. Lowe was previously a Holophane sales representative.

EMRA Controls Inc. (Auburn, Wash.): Mike Holm has been named a sales associate. He was previously northwest regional manager for Marley Engineered Products.

GE Supply (Shelton, Conn.): Tom Hubregsen has been promoted to vice president-marketing. He was most recently manager of GE Industrial Systems Products. Hubregsen joined GE in 1983 and is a nine-year GE Supply veteran. His prior assignments include project manager for motors and drives and manager, GE Industrial Systems Products.

The National Association of Electrical Distributors (NAED) (St. Louis): Michelle Jaworowski has been named vice president of the association. Jaworowski joined NAED in 1998 and was promoted to director of the NAED Education Foundation (NEF) in 2000. Jaworowski will continue serving as the executive director of NEF.

Warren Electric Group (Houston): As part of its restructuring efforts, the company has announced the promotion of several senior level management employees: Jay Kedzie, most recently the regional manager for Louisiana, has been promoted to vice president of operations. Jack Walker has been promoted to vice president of the greater Houston region, which includes three Houston facilities and the Clute, Texas, facility. Greg Hall has been promoted to national accounts and marketing vice-president responsible for coordination of all national and integrated supply contract accounts. Abdul Hooda has been promoted to the position of vice president-Global Export. Jack Barnes has been promoted to senior vice president-sales and branch operations. The company is rolling out a newly restructured organization along with the promotions mentioned above. Cheryl Thompson-Draper remains the chairman of the board, chief executive officer and president. John Draper has been elected as vice chairman of the board and chief operating officer. Randy Patterson has been retained as chief restructuring officer. There are three people reporting directly to Patterson: Jay Kedzie (vice president, operations), Marty Eckert (chief financial officer), and Jack Barnes (senior vice president-sales and branch operations). Reporting to Jack Barnes will be Jack Walker, Greg Hall, Abdul Hooda, Mark Alspaugh (senior vice president-Caribbean), and Gus Smith (senior vice president).

Tappan Wire & Cable Inc. (Blauvelt, N.Y.): Robin Miller has been named sales manager. Her primary responsibilities will be to establish processes and procedures for the sales team. Prior to joining Tappan, Miller was the national marketing manager at Nexans Energy USA (formerly Alcatel Wire & Cable), where she guided the sales force into new target areas. Chris Durland joined the company last month as manager, quality assurance and process control. His primary responsibilities include overall quality of the company's manufactured products and will also oversee process control within the manufacturing operations. Before joining Tappan, Durland was a senior application and product engineer with General Cable (formerly Cablec, BICC Cables) for 12 years. Fernando Ramos has been appointed director of industrial sales. His primary responsibilities will be to create brand awareness concerning Tappan's product line including industrial type wire and cable. Specifically, Ramos will be working to promote the company's products with contractors and OEMs through the distributors' channels. Ramos was most recently a sales manager with Aerospace Wire & Cable for 10 years.
