Jim Newton, co-founder of Profile Systems, Inc., West Springfield, Mass., has sold his interest back to the company and will return full time as "president and trainee"(as he likes to call himself) of Sales Tech, South Hadley, Mass. Sales Tech conceived, developed and produced the NAED Educational Foun-dation's EPEC program.

At Walters Wholesale Electric Co., Signal Hill, Calif., John Walter has been named board chairman and CEO, Bill Durkee has been named president after serving as vice president of operations, and Jim Johnson, a 35-year employee, has been promoted to executive vice president.

At Greenlee Textron, Inc., Rockford, Ill., Denise A. Tino has been named territory manager for Connecticut, Rhode Island and western Massachusetts. Tammy Metz has been named territory manager for Utah, southeastern Idaho, Wyoming, Montana and eastern Nevada.

At Major Electric Supply, Inc., Paw-tucket, R.I., David E. Leven has been named chairman of the board. Alan J. Leven was named president. Jack S. Nugent was named executive vice president. Anne D. Quigley was named sales manager. Tom McKay has been named purchasing manager.

William, (Bill) Nielsen has joined to the Charlotte, N.C., sales staff of King Wire, Inc., North Chicago, Ill. He was previously KWI's district sales manager in Tennessee, North and South Carolina and Virginia.

Bruce A. Hemmelman was promoted to distributor product manager at Columbia Lighting, Inc., Spokane, Wash, responsible for nationwide distributor and stock programs. Previously he worked in quotations and customer service.

The Energy Efficient Lighting Association (EELA), Princeton, N.J., named its first board of directors: David Brown, board president, president of A.L.P. Lighting and Ceiling Products; Geoffrey Archibald, vice president of Lighting Systems Solutions, Inc.; Timothy Carnes, president of Lighting Management Consultants, Inc.; Steven Purdy, director, specification sales, Advance Transformer Co.; Thomas Ruggeri, president, Fair Market Energy, Inc.; William Sifflard, president, Renova; and Gary Smith, global market development manager, 3M Lighting.

At Platt Electric Supply, Inc., Beaver-ton, Ore., Harvey Platt has been promoted to chairman and chief executive officer, responsible for overseeing the company's general direction and human resources. Jay Platt has been promoted to president, with responsibilities including daily business operations.

At Baldor Electric Co., Fort Smith, Ark., board chairman R. S. Boreham, Jr., announced these staff changes: R.L. Qualls remains company vice chairman and an executive committee member, but the former university professor has stepped down as CEO, and the company has not named a replacement; Robert D. Butler received a promotion to executive vice president after serving as vice president of operations; Randy L. Colip was promoted to vice president of sales. He had served as national sales manager. Ronald E. Tucker was promoted to controller. He formerly served as audit services director.

V.J. Singh was named branch manager of the New York region for King Wire, Inc., North Chicago, Ill., covering New England through the Mid-Atlantic states. He formerly served in KWI's Jamaica, N.Y., office, managed marketing services for NCR Co. and worked in sales for Custom Cable Industries.

At the Wiremold Co., West Hartford, Conn., Hillary Rhody was appointed product marketing specialist for perimeter systems. Donald Sementilli was appointed product/business manager for overhead systems.

At the Association for High Technology Distribution, Philadelphia, Pa., Greg Pfleger, vice president of sales and marketing for Shingle & Gibb Co., Moorestown, N.J., was elected president. Tony Cassady, Cassady & Co., Little Rock, Ark., was elected vice president. Paul Tornabene, MSI Technologies, Englewood, Colo., was elected secretary. James C. Baker, Jr., Electro-Matic Products, Inc., Farmington Hills, Mich., was elected treasurer. Frank Hurtte, Van Meter Electric Supply, Des Moines, Iowa, was elected membership chairman. AHTD also elected three new members to its board of directors: Daniel B. O'Brien, Gibson Engineering, Nor-wood, Mass.; Stephen M. Earley, JMT Automation & Controls, Gastonia, N.C.; and James H. Norton of EMD Optima, Hanover, Mass.
