Griffith Electric Supply celebrated its 70th anniversary at the company's headquarters in Trenton, N.J., in October with more than 100 vendors participating. Vendors displayed their latest electrical technology and provided valuable information to more than 500 customers and guests. Guests received free gifts, tours of Griffith's facilities and enjoyed a chance to play casino games, win door prizes and watch a video presentation.

Part of the celebration took place outside when Griffith Electric Supply owner and founder, 99 year-old Mrs. Meta A. Griffith, received a very special surprise from the city of Trenton. Trenton Mayor Douglas Palmer unveiled a new street sign renaming Griffith Electric's block of Second St. “Meta A. Griffith Way,” in honor of Griffith's life accomplishments. The street filled with customers and guests who watched the event. The new street sign was installed on the point in front of the “Flatiron” building, one of Trenton's historic landmarks and the founding location of Griffith Electric.

The anniversary celebration provided the business an opportunity to thank its customers for their business and friendship — many have been loyal to the company for generations. Griffith Electric, founded in 1938, by Meta Griffith and her husband, William, now employs more than 60 people at four locations serving central New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania.
