Energy-efficient lighting specialist MaxLite, West Caldwell, N.J., is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. This manufacturer and marketer of LED luminaires and lamps achieved many milestones and product success stories throughout its history.
“For the last 20 years, MaxLite has been committed to providing energy-efficient lighting products,” said Yon Sung, MaxLite president and CEO. “We are very appreciative to our customers, specifiers and partners that helped us to substantially grow the business over the past two decades. 2012 represented a banner year as we successfully launched a wide range of products into the marketplace and 2013 looks even brighter as we look forward to establishing deeper inroads into new market segments.”
The company's flagship product line, the HighMax family of outdoor and indoor fixtures and lamps, has become a signature commercial product line since its introduction in 2005. This year LED high-bay fixtures and LED replacement lamps for low-bay applications will play significant roles in the firm's growth, the company said.
The company started with compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs) when its first U.S. offices and distribution center opened in New Jersey in 1993. Highlights of the 20-year journey so far have included the introduction of a small line of CFLs called MiniMax in 1995, high-wattage CFLs branded HighMax in 2003, and the company's first Edison- and mogul-based LED lamps in 2005. An R&D facility and distribution center to serve the West Coast opened in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., in 2007. In 2008, the company's Brigantine Collection of ceiling and wall fixtures received the Lighting for Tomorrow Grand Prize Award. In 2009 MaxLite introduced its edge-lit LED flat panel line, FlatMax, and in 2010 it established the MaxLED brand of indoor and outdoor lighting fixtures.
MaxLite established its first U.S. product assembly line at its West Caldwell headquarters in July last year.
