Mid-State Supply Co., Alexandria, La., concluded its “Generac — Never Feel Powerless Again” internal sales promotion. The promotion ran from May 1 to Oct. 31. Participants qualified for the program by completing a minimum of two Generac online learning modules. Each month, participants were eligible to win a prize by having the highest dollar value of invoiced Generac products for that month. Prizes that were up for grabs were an Apple iPad, Cannon Rebel Camera system, XBOX 360 Kinect gaming system, LG Blu-Ray Home Theater System, 4-Gallon Fish Fryer and a 5-Burner Gas Grill.

The promotion was a tremendous success, says Junior Hebron, manager of sales and marketing for Mid-State. The company's sales of Generac products rose 24.38% during the promotional period as compared to the same time period for 2010.

Bluevolt Learning Management System Goes Mobile

BlueVolt, Portland, Ore., has released its HTML5 mobile interface. BlueVolt's elearning users can now access interactive courses, quizzes and videos from any mobile device such as the iPad, iPhone and Android browsers — without relying on the use of Adobe Flash software. In addition to supporting interactive content, the new mobile interface features simple-to-navigate, enhanced functionality for mobile learners.

“People are increasingly on-the-go and our new technology allows learners to access online courses whenever and wherever is most convenient for them,” said Belinda Runkle, BlueVolt director of engineering. “Our elearning experts addressed the biggest roadblock to making elearning mobile-friendly; Flash is no longer required.”
