Buying/marketing group Equity/EDN presented the following awards at their annual conference earlier this year.

The recipient of Equity/EDN's Lifetime Achievement Award was Ed Kanner, chairman of American Insulated Wire, Pawtucket, R.I. The Equity/EDN Sales Champion Award went to Steve Nebel, sales representative for Osram Sylvania, Danvers, Mass.

Vendor awards, which measure overall supplier performance and distributor satisfaction, were divided into five separate categories and were distributed as follows:

Merchandise Award — NSI, Huntersville, N.C.; and Pass & Seymour, Syracuse, N.Y.

Product Award — Ideal Industries, Sycamore, Ill.; and Milwaukee Tools, Brookfield, Wis.

Administration Award — Bridgeport Fittings, Bridgeport, Conn.; and Broan/Nutone, Hartford, Wis.

Delivery Award — Encore Wire & Cable, McKinney, Texas; and FCI Burndy Products, Manchester, N.H.

Marketing Award — Arlington Industries, Scranton, Pa.; and Cooper Lighting, Peachtree City, Ga.

Top Equity/EDN distributor performers were recognized for their outstanding contributions to the organization in terms of sales growth and support. Those awarded the “Circle of Excellence” demonstrated the highest overall sales growth through Equity/EDN, along with supporting the greatest number of Equity/EDN associated suppliers. Circle of Excellence honorees were Allied Electric Supply, Southfield, Mich.; Allsale Electric Supply, Canoga Park, Calif.; Bayside Electrical Supply, Wilmington, N.C.; Key Electrical Supply, Houston; Lite House Ltd., Camp Springs, Md.; Rainier Lighting & Electric, Lakewood, Wash; SBS Electrical Supply, Florence, S.C.; Tri-State Electric Supply, Coffeyville, Kan; and Yale Electrical Supply, Boston.

A total of 589 members and associated suppliers attended the annual meeting, which addressed a variety of topics ranging from distributor concerns to innovative solutions to electrical business issues. With more than 1,150 member locations, Equity/EDN provides marketing and sales support services to a network of independent electrical wholesale distributors throughout the United States.

Associated with 110 vendors, Equity/EDN assists these vendors in achieving their objectives within the membership. Through quality marketing programs and services, Equity/EDN commits to helping increase vendor sales, which consistently exceed the average industry growth rate.
