United Copper Industries, Inc. (UCI), Denton, Texas, announced today that AndyBlanchard has resigned his position as president and chief executive officer ofUCI, effective immediately, to pursueother interests.The company said Jeff Hykin is joining UCI as president and chief operatingofficer.Hykin most recently servedas vice president, Portfolio Operations, with private equity firm KPS, where he led operational andbusiness improvement programs at anumber of KPS portfolio companies. Prior to joining KPS, he held executiveleadership positions with Evergreen Packaging Corp. and Blue Ridge PaperProducts, Inc., a former KPS portfolio company.Hykin earned his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering fromFlorida State University and his MBA from Northwestern University’s KelloggSchool of Management.

Ira Glazer will serve as non-executive chairmanof UCI and is joining the board of directors of United Copper Holdings,LLC. Glazer most recently served asthe president and chief executive officer ofWireCo WorldGroup and WireCo’s predecessor company, WireRope Corporation of America, which was a KPS portfoliocompany from 2003 to2007.
