The National Electrical Manufacturers Representatives Association (NEMRA), Tarrytown, N.Y., has announced three presentations of its Maximizing Representation Through Better Management Seminar for 2002. The day and a half seminar, held in St. Charles, Ill., is tailored for manufacturers' sales executives in the electrical industry and is geared toward regional managers — especially those who are new to working with independent representatives.

The session also is recommended for manufacturer personnel who interact with reps, as well as sales and marketing managers. Subjects covered in the seminars, conducted by industry veterans Kris Hefley and Larry Fisher, include topics such as:

  • understanding your manufacturer's organization and your representative's function

  • sales and marketing tactics

  • partnering and planning

  • recruiting and hiring reps

Attendees will take away a certificate of completion, a manual containing a detailed seminar outline and proven management and communication techniques. Dates for the seminar are Feb. 6-7, June 12-13 and Oct. 3-4. For more information and a registration form, contact: Kris Helfley (303) 894-9867 or NEMRA Headquarters (914) 524-8650; or visit www.nemra.org and click on “Events.”
