Pfeiffer Sales in the Winner's Circle

June 1, 2005

Pfeiffer Sales Co., Louisville, Ky., had additional reason to celebrate during its 8th Annual “Day At The Races” on May 5 at Churchill Downs, just two days before this year's memorable Kentucky Derby. More than 175 guests, including contractor and distributor attendees from Kentucky, Indiana and Ohio, and manufacturer principals from across the United States helped the 40-year-old independent manufacturers' rep celebrate the successful completion of a $121-million dollar renovation of the racetrack. Part of the electrical renovation work included the installation of Allied Tube & Conduit's Kwik Fit EMT throughout the project by electrical contractor Henderson Services, Louisville.

Pfeiffer Sales handled more than $500,000 in electrical materials for the renovation of the “Twin Spires” complex, which included the addition of luxury suites. This renovation was quite an endeavor, as the time line from start to finish was only 22 months. Missing the completion date was never an option because the project had to be finished before the many events of “Derby Week” at the beloved horse-racing track. Adding further complexity to the project, the track remained in normal operation throughout construction, including last year's Kentucky Derby event.

Taking advantage of their office and warehouse location less than two miles from the historic track, Pfeiffer Sales stored material for Henderson Services, and delivered product as it was required, directly to the job site. According to rep principal Kelly Pfeiffer, “We were happy to do whatever we could to keep the project on schedule. Churchill Downs and the Derby bring so much to the Louisville community.”
