A report in BDlive (www.bdlive.co.za), the digital version of Business Day, South Africa's daily business newspaper, said electrical equipment manufacturer Actom has extended its partnership with Schneider Electric to enhance their penetration of their respective major markets. According to the BDlive posting, “The deal will also help the companies to meet the local content requirements of their South African customers, especially state-owned enterprises. In terms of local content requirements, companies must use a certain proportion of locally made parts and components.”
Actom is said to be the largest manufacturer, repairer and distributor of electro-mechanical equipment in southern Africa.
