Siemens AG won an $800 million contract to build an offshore wind farm in the Irish Sea that will provide enough electricity for 300,000 British households.

Siemens AG won an $800 million contract to build an offshore wind farm in the Irish Sea that will provide enough electricity for 300,000 British households. The wind farm, which will have 108 windmills, is expected to go online in 2014. Jens-Peter Saul, the chief executive of Siemens Wind Power unit, says “offshore wind farms are one of the fastest-growing technologies of power generation.”
