April 27, 2020
Comments for this draft, which includes updated requirements for cybersecurity and interoperability, are due by May 29, 2020.
The DesignLights Consortium (DLC) recently released the second draft of its Networked Lighting Controls Technical Requirements V5 (NLC5) for public comment through the stakeholder input process.
NLC5 focuses on strengthening the value of NLC technology while addressing important issues for the market acceptance and accelerating the adoption and energy savings potential of networked lighting controls. This draft includes updated requirements for:
Cybersecurity — the practice of defending networked systems and data from malicious attacks.
Interoperability — a characteristic unlocking new energy savings by connecting different systems and requirements for energy monitoring.
Comments are now open for the second draft of NLC5 requirements, which must be submitted by May 29, 2020. NLC5 will be finalized and implemented in June 2020.
