Granite City Announces Field of Dreams IV Winner

Oct. 21, 2008
Granite City Electric Supply Co., Quincy, Mass., announced that the town of Bridgewater, Mass., had won the company's Field of Dreams IV Sweepstakes.

Granite City Electric Supply Co., Quincy, Mass., announced that the town of Bridgewater, Mass., had won the company's Field of Dreams IV Sweepstakes. Bridgewater will receive a fully installed sports lighting package for one of their junior softball fields, a prize worth approximately $100,000.

This year's winner was announced Sept. 22 during NESN radio's Red Sox pre-game show at Fenway Park by Granite City Electric's owner and CEO Phyllis Godwin. “We are so thrilled to know that the children of Bridgewater will have the fun of playing under the lights,” says Godwin. “It is a great feeling to give back to our communities and we are delighted to once again join forces with Matt Glynn (owner of Glynn Electric in Plymouth, Mass.) and Paul Mustone (of Reflex Lighting in Boston), who have generously donated the installation and lighting fixtures for this program.”

Jim Polk, Bridgewater Girls Softball Minors Commissioner, and his daughter Brittany were on hand for the winning announcement. After years of hard work and anticipation, Bridgewater broke ground on Sept. 9 for the new softball fields that will be located behind the Crescent Street police station.

This year's Field of Dreams Sweepstakes had 15 New England towns as finalists. Cash donations were awarded to the second, third, fourth and fifth-place winning towns of Needham, Mass.; Monson, Mass.; Cranston, R.I.; and Halifax, Mass., respectively.
