Sales for the electrical members of the Affiliated Distributors buying/marketing group grew 3% in the first three quarters of 2013, on a same-store basis from $8.72 billion to $8.96 billion. Sales across AD all AD Divisions grew by 4% in the first three quarters of 2013 to $21 billion. As a whole, AD distributors hired 1,808 new employees and opened 108 new locations through the first nine months of 2013.
In other news at AD, the buying/marketing group hosted its premier annual event, the AD Electrical Divisions’ North American Meeting, on Oct. 6-9, at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, MD. The meeting broke all previous attendance records with over 950 attendees, including more than 100 first-time attendees, many of which represented new AD Canada affiliates and suppliers.
AD’s annual event includes its “Spirit of Independence” Awards Banquet. Awards included the following AD affiliates and suppliers:
