Summit Electric Supply Holds Groundbreaking Event for Future Gonzales, La., Facility
Summit Electric Supply, Albuquerque, N.M., held a groundbreaking event on Aug. 12 to celebrate the company’s future Gonzales, La., location. The facility at 3348 S. Burnside will include 50,000 square feet of warehouse space — nearly twice the capacity of Summit’s current Gonzales location on West Orice Roth Rd. The move allows Summit to expand its counter sales area, offer additional customer service
Gonzales Mayor Barney Arceneaux spoke at the groundbreaking event along with Ascension Chamber of Commerce Board Chairman Matthew Pryor. Attendees included Summit’s CEO Victor Jury Jr. and many of Summit’s suppliers and customers. The head of Ascension Economic Development Corp. Mike Eades also joined the celebration as well as a number of city, state, and parish officials, including Louisiana State Senator Troy Brown; State Representatives Clay Schexnayder and Ed Price; Ascension Parish President Tommy Martinez; Ascension Parish Assessor Mert Smiley; and Gonzales Councilmen Gary Lacombe, Timothy Vessel, and Terance Irvin.
Summit has serviced residential, commercial, and industrial contractors in the Gonzales area since January 2003, and has actively supported local non-profit organizations, schools and youth activities, and other community projects.
