Service Electric Supply Updates ERP System

Oct. 12, 2020
The new system will allow for the company to gain better insight into inventory management and reporting while maintaining quality customer service.

Southeast Michigan's Service Electric Supply, Inc., recently announced it has selected Savance Enterprise's ERP platform to advance its growth. The electrical supplier migrated from Array in order to gain better insight into inventory management.

President and CEO Eric Braidwood explained in the press release, "Our goal was to find a solution with an architecture that could be expanded. Our old system just did not provide the flexibility we required, which hindered both future operations and growth."

Savance Enterprise's platform has been gaining traction with electrical distributors by catering to what they do best: customer support. "While so many other software companies are automating customer support, we are simply picking up the phone and providing them the attention they need," said Savance's vice present, Jason Plasencia, in the release.

For Service Electrical Supply, this key customer service piece is what persuaded the company to make the upgrade. “When you decide to make a huge change such as undertaking a new software solution, you need to know the company you selected will be there if you hit bumps in the road,” added Braidwood. “With Savance, we were able to simply pick up the phone and talk to someone.”

This accessibility also helped streamline the transition process, enabling Service Electric Supply to get to the data they previously lacked. Braidwood explains that the new ERP system gives them real-time data, allowing them to see into areas they didn't previously have insight to. For example, reorder points and quantities were static with the old system, where as now, the company can see when trends and purchase orders change, giving them more accurate standard fill rates.

Savance's Windows- and web-based technology is available both on-premise and in the cloud and, according to Plasencia, can provide "an end-to-end solution without the need for additional modules, product add-ons or supplemental fees."

Looking toward the future, the team at Service Electric Supply is confident their accurate inventory management system will allow them to strengthen customer relationships. “Manufacturers are not just rating us on how much we buy from them, but also on how easy we are as a customer to do business with, and I think Savance Enterprise has really helped with that,” concluded Braidwood in the release.
