Maurice Electrical Supply Co. Inc., Washington, D.C., announced that Bruce Kogod, chairman and CEO, and Mark Kogod, president, have purchased all the outstanding shares of the company, placing 100% of company ownership within the Kogod family.

“This stock purchase ensures that Maurice will continue to be one of the largest family-owned and -operated electrical distributors in the nation, and enables us to focus on providing our customers with the attention and personal service that they've come to trust throughout our 85-year history,” says Bruce Kogod.

Bruce and Mark Kogod represent the third generation of family ownership. Bruce's son, Jack, has also joined Maurice, making it one of the country's few electrical distributorships with “line of sight” toward a fourth generation of family ownership.

Founded in 1922 in Washington, D.C., Maurice Electric Supply has grown from a small gas and electric lighting supplier to a major electrical distributor employing more than 200 associates in Washington, D.C., Rockville, Md., and Stuart, Fla. A detailed history of the company can be found at www.MauriceElectric.com.
