VEC makes acquisition in VDV market with purchase of Connect-It

May 27, 2014
Connect-It will operate as a stand-alone division of VEC and will continue to support their customer base of end users, contractors, installers, schools and municipalities in the Raleigh marketplace.

VEC, LLC, a leading distributor of datacom, security and industrial automation products, today announced they have signed a definitive agreement to acquire the assets of Connect-It, a datacom products and custom cable provider based in Raleigh, N.C. The deal is expected to close the first week in June.

Under the terms of the agreement, Connect-It will operate as a stand-alone division of VEC and will continue to support their customer base of end users, contractors, installers, schools and municipalities in the Raleigh marketplace. “We believe this is an excellent add-on to the VEC business, bringing us a strong customer base and knowledgeable employees to support our sales growth”, stated Frank Stalzer, President/CEO of VEC. “VEC already has a successful branch in the Raleigh market supporting contractors and installers so we plan to keep these two branches separate, allowing each of them to provide greater focus to their respective end markets. Our overall goal is to continue to build our business organically and through acquisitions and this latest move brings our number of branch locations to seven.”

VEC is headquartered in Charlottesville, Va. and maintains stocking sales branches in Lynchburg, Roanoke, Richmond, Raleigh, and Greensboro. In addition, VEC maintains an on-line distribution business operating under the banner DirectDatacom.
