In a move that brings together two of Illinois’ independent electrical distributors, Revere Electric Supply Co., Mokena, Ill., acquired the business of Glenbard Electric Supply, a one-location distributor in Lombard, Ill.

Glenbard has operated in Lombard since 1966, a 50-year run of service to the northern Illinois residential, commercial and industrial electrical contractor markets, with additional offerings in lighting and voice/data products. Revere Electric Supply’s release described Glenbard as the market leader in the construction industry in its market, and said it operates with the same traditions, strengths and customer-centric values as the Revere organization.

Revere said the addition of Glenbard Electric aligns with its growth strategy to increase its contractor market share in northern Illinois, with the intent of becoming northern Illinois’s premiere electrical distributor for residential, commercial and industrial contractors.

Glenbard Electric Supply will operate in parallel with Revere Electric Supply, with Glenbard president Dominic Vozella, a 28-year industry-veteran, leading the organization as executive vice president of Revere. Revere expects to fully integrate Glenbard into its organization within the year.

Revere Electric Supply is a fourth-generation, family-owned distributor that since its founding in 1919 has grown to eight stocking locations and a motor shop throughout north and central Illinois and southern Wisconsin. Revere is a full-line distributor with strong emphasis on its industrial offerings as part of the Rockwell Automation distributor network.

Revere’s most recent previous acquisition added BJ Electric Supply, Madison, Wis., in January 2012.
