Plymouth Electrical Tape (Canton, Mass.): Shelly MacDonald was recently appointed marketing coordinator. With more than 13 years of experience, MacDonald was most recently an account executive for Thomas & Betts.

Siemens Energy & Automation (Atlanta, Ga.): Rejoining Siemens after three years as vice president, communications, at Medco Health, a former subsidiary of Merck and Co., Thomas Varney has been appointed Siemens' vice president of corporate communications. Varney has nearly 15 years of experience with Siemens Corp.

Independent Electric Supply (San Carlos, Calif.): Bob Wittig has been appointed corporate information technology manager. Wittig has more than 20 years experience working with electrical distribution software helping distributors better utilize information processing technology. Prior to joining IES, Wittig worked with Tradepower Inc. as western region manager.

Bridgeport Fittings Inc. (Stratford, Conn.): Steve Camilletti joins Bridgeport Fittings as national sales manager, bringing both regional and national sales experience to the position. He spent the last nine years at Conduit Pipe Products.

Post Glover (Erlanger, Ky.): Aidan Stringfellow has been appointed vice president of manufacturing. Stringfellow comes to Post Glover from sister Halma Group company, Cressall Resistors Ltd., where he served as manufacturing director for the last five years.

Dominion Electric Supply Co. (Arlington, Va.): Dominion Electric Supply Co. has announced several employee promotions. Tom Culotta, formerly director of project sales, was promoted to vice president of commercial sales. Mike O'Donnell, formerly assistant vice president of credit, is now vice president of credit. Amanda Leonard and Debbie Carr have been appointed assistant managers to the Chantilly, Va., residential lighting showroom. Both are certified lighting specialists by the American Lighting Association (ALA).

Burmeister (Minneapolis): Chad Cravens has been appointed sales manager and brings 11 years of distribution sales experience to his new role.

WESCO International Inc. (Pittsburgh): John Engel has joined the company as senior vice president and chief operating officer. His work experience includes roles with General Electric, Allied Signal/Honeywell, PerkinElmer, and Gateway. In a separate announcement, WESCO promoted Steve Van Oss, from vice president and chief financial officer, to senior vice president and chief financial and administrative officer.

Schneider Electric North American Operating Division (Palatine, Ill.): Tom Insprucker has been named vice president of marketing. A 19-year company veteran, Insprucker most recently served as director of the industrial applications team. Nic Gihl has been named vice president of industrial automation. Gihl most recently served as president of Proface America.

Thomas & Betts Corp. (Memphis, Tenn.) Jim Feeney has been promoted to the position of vice president of sales for electrical products. Most recently, Feeney was area vice president for the Eastern Region.

OBITUARIES

John “Talley” Joiner, a founding member of the National Electrical Manufacturers Representative Association (NEMRA), died June 23. He was 78. Joiner also founded rep agency Joiner & Associates Inc., Tampa, Fla. Joiner retired and closed his rep firm in 1999. He is survived by his wife, Martha; son, Craig; sister, Betty McGown; and a grandson, Chance.

Frank Joseph Mottolo, co-founder and co-owner of Electricsmarts.com, died June 19 from brain cancer at the age of 43. He is survived by his wife, Margaret L. (Murphy) Mottolo; daughters Katie, Alexis and Maggie; parents Frank R. and Helene (Kaloisis) Mottolo; sisters Jean Holmes, Helen Sullivan, Grace Goldsby, Linda Popovic, and Renee Devereaux; 10 nieces and nephews, and 13 grandnieces and grandnephews.
