At BICCGeneral, Highland Heights, Ky., Roddy MacDonald has been named vice president and general manager, electrical cables. He is responsible for the building wire and consumer business groups. He was most recently chief executive officer at Alflex Corp., Long Beach, Calif., prior to a restructuring at that company. He succeeds Harold Bevis, who joined Jordan Telecommunications Products Inc., Chicago, Ill., as president and chief executive officer

Randy W. Carson has been promoted to senior vice president and group executive for Eaton Corp.'s Cutler-Hammer group. He was most recently vice president, growth initiatives. Carson replaces David M. Wathen, who has accepted the position of principal at Questor, a private equity fund partnership.

Timothy J. King has been named president of Superior Electric Supply Co., Elyria, Ohio. He succeeds Fred G. Behm, who has been named chairman of the board. King was previously executive vice president.

David Marshall has been named executive vice president at Robroy Industries, Verona, Pa. He will be responsible for the electrical products division and Trimm Technologies, the company's packaging subsidiary. He retains the title and responsibilities of president of the Electrical Products division.

Terry Stevens has been promoted to area manager, Great Lakes region, of Industrial & Commercial Lighting at Osram Sylvania, Danvers, Mass. She was previously the area operations manger in the Mountain/Northwest States area.

James Piraino has been appointed president and chief executive officer of BuildPoint.com, Redwood City, Calif. A 15-year veteran of the construction materials industry, he was most recently executive officer and vice president of marketing at WESCO International, Inc.

At Wiremold, West Hartford, Conn., Bill Helene has been promoted to manager, specification marketing. He was previously in applications engineering and market development. Kevin Baker, most recently international JIT facilitator, has been promoted to product marketing specialist for Perimeter Systems. Bill Desrosiers has been promoted to product business manager for Perimeter Systems. He was previously a production supervisor.

Rick Castle has been named senior vice president, marketing and sales, at RERO Distribution Companies, Inc., Rochester, N.Y. He was most recently president of R.D. Castle Associates, Inc., a marketing firm that specializes in the distribution industry. Gerry Case has been named vice president, electrical products division. He was previously vice president, marketing and sales, with Eagle Electric Supply.

At Prophet 21, Inc., Yardley, Pa., Joe Buffington has been named chief technology officer, responsible for visionary technology development. He was most recently director of Prophet 21 Wholesale development.

Claude Sarti has been named director of sales at Alkco Lighting, Franklin Park, Ill. He most recently served as sales manager at Cooper Lighting.

John A. Richardson Sr. has been named chairman of the board of directors of Branch Electric Supply Co., Inc., Upper Marlboro, Md. Adam D. Steiner, previously vice president, has succeeded Richardson as president.

OBITUARY Jim Rosenfield, a partner and board member of Romac Supply Co., City of Commerce, Calif., died Dec. 17. He was 50 years old. Rosenfield served as vice president of Romac Supply Co., until 1994, when he left to found InsightWeb, a Web design and consulting firm. He is survived by his wife, Victoria; daughter, Ariel: son, Richard; his mother, father, sister and brother, David Rosenfield.
