Turtle & Hughes, Linden, NJ, is celebrating Independence Day by officially announcing its employee and corporate sponsorship of The Gary Sinise Foundation (GSF), an advocate of our nation’s veterans, first responders, their families, and those in need.
“There is no better time to rally our troops in support of the Gary Sinise Foundation, which has expanded its reach to include our healthcare heroes fighting the Coronavirus pandemic,” said Jayne Millard, Chairman and Co-CEO of Turtle & Hughes, in the press release. “The brave men and women of our military, first responders and healthcare professionals willingly sacrifice for our freedom, security and well-being. This is our way of showing our gratitude for all they do.”
Explaining the company’s engagement, Kathleen Shanahan, Co-CEO, said in the release, “As part of our mission, we are supporting the R.I.S.E. program, which builds specially adapted smart homes for our most severely wounded heroes, and home modifications, mobility devices and adapted vehicles for our injured, wounded, ill, and aging veterans and first responders.”
In addition, Turtle & Hughes recently donated N-95 masks to the Foundation’s Emergency COVID-19 Combat Service, which addresses the needs of first responders and healthcare professionals with grants for personal protective equipment. The masks were sent to two facilities in need: a hospital in New Jersey and first responders serving areas of Idaho and Washington State.
In true democratic fashion, every two years the employees of Turtle & Hughes go to the polls to vote for their philanthropy of choice. The close to 900 employees nationwide cast their support for GSF and are ready to serve a two-year commitment. They have pledged to help raise money through corporate-sponsored events and individual and team fundraisers, which will be held virtually to keep everyone safe. About the Gary Sinise Foundation

Its mission is to serve our nation by honoring our defenders, veterans, first responders, their families, and those in need. They do this through a number of national and local programs, funded by the generosity of the Foundation’s 75,000+ donors.
