Needham Electric Supply (NESCO), Canton, Mass., has been expanding its footprint in New England through organic branch openings and bolt-on acquisitions of smaller distributors throughout the region.
NESCO last month added to its network both ways with announcements of a new branch in New Hampshire, followed by the acquisition of single-location GTM Electric Supply in St. Albans, Vt.
NESCO's new Hudson, N.H., location at 13 Hampshire Dr. is a full-service branch including a 1,500-square-foot counter area and a 5,000-square-foot warehouse. Hudson is NESCO's ninth location in New Hampshire.
Walter Mycroft, who joined Needham Electric last October and has more than 20 years of experience in the industry, has been named district manager.
NESCO's announcement that it has acquired the assets of GTM Electric Supply brings the company's totals to six locations in Vermont and 26 branches throughout New England. The GTM Electric location will operate as Needham Electric Supply but will continue to be run by GTM Electric founder Mark Bourbeau as branch manager. Bourbeau started GTM in 1991.
