Edward Mohr, a longtime employee of Johnson Electric Supply Co., Cincinnati, passed away on the morning of July 6th at age 87.
Edward Mohr, a longtime employee of Johnson Electric Supply Co., Cincinnati, passed away on the morning of July 6th at age 87. Ed joined Johnson Electric Supply at the age of 15. The company founder, Claude W. Johnson, Sr., picked him up while he was hitch hiking across the L&N Bridge to Cincinnati on June 8, 1942, and hired him on the spot. Ed was with the company for 72 years.
Part of the Greatest Generation, Ed served in the United States Navy and saw active duty in 1944 and 1945 in the Pacific Theatre. He was honored at the NAED National Convention in Washington D.C. in May of 2001.
Doug Johnson, the company’s president said, “Ed was a great ambassador for the electrical industry. He served our company in many capacities and remained active until a few months ago. He was an owner, officer, director and gentleman. He will be missed by all of those whose lives he touched.”
