Hughes Takes on New Role at Border States

Summit Electric Supply (Albuquerque, N.M.): Paul Jeffries is now president and COO, a new position within the company. He was previously a group vice president and general manager for a publicly-traded international distributor. Jeffries will report to Victor Jury Jr., chairman and CEO, and be based out of Summit’s Houston, Texas offices.
Jeffries has worked in electrical distribution for nearly 25 years running various sized businesses from $10 million to over $800 million in annual sales, and he most recently managed the global sales and operations of an integrated supply group for a multi-billion dollar Fortune 500 distributor. In that role, he managed 700 people in North and South America, Eastern and Western Europe, and Asia. He has an MBA from the Air Force Institute of Technology as well as a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Auburn University and a bachelor’s in engineering sciences from the United States Air Force Academy. He also served as a Captain in the United States Air Force.

I’m confident he’ll help refine and execute Summit’s strategic vision and continue to build on the successful business practices we’ve established as a private, independent company,” said Jury in a press release. “Adding Paul to the Summit team reflects our commitment to planning for Summit’s future success as part of a broadly implemented, companywide succession planning process.”
Jeffries will be responsible for aligning Summit’s vision with solutions that drive growth and market share across the company. He’ll oversee Summit’s sales, operations, corporate credit, marketing and talent management. He’ll also direct Summit’s international sales division, plus have indirect oversight of the marine division; engineering, procurement, and construction; and the strategic accounts team.
