Zekelman Appoints Simpson as New VP, Electrical Sales

Simpson will oversee Wheatland Tube, Western Tube, and Picoma.

Zekelman (Chicago): Steve Simpson is now VP-Electrical Sales. In this role, he will have full commercial responsibility for Wheatland Tube, Western Tube and Picoma, three of Zekelman’s operating companies.

Simpson has more than 20 years in the electrical industry in a variety of leadership roles. In his previous role, he grew the company’s account coverage to more than $1.2 billion. He currently resides in Phoenix with his wife and two children. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Lewis University.

“Steve has a proven track record of driving top and bottom-line growth,” said Jim Hays, President, Electrical Division, Zekelman, in the press release. “He is very strategic minded and knows how to create demand for value-added products and services at multiple levels within the channel.”

Zekelman has  20 manufacturing locations and 2,900-plus teammates across North America. The company is a major independent manufacturer of hollow structural sections (HSS) and steel pipe, and the top producer of electrical conduit and elbows, couplings and nipples in North America.
