2014 South Atlantic Region Forecast

The region's diversity is its strength - from ultra-high-end residential in the Dezer-Porsche Tower in Miami to a new 600,000-sq-ft data center for the NSA. Residential markets in Atlanta, Raleigh and Washington, D.C., are recovering at last Overall, the region's electrical sales should grow 2.7% in 2014.

No other region in the United States will offer such a diverse mix of construction projects over the next few years. You have jaw-dropping residential projects like Miami’s Dezer-Porsch Design Residences, a 60-story tower with residences from 4,200 to 17,000 square feet and priced from $4.5 to $25 million; recovering residential markets in Atlanta, Raleigh, N.C. and the D.C. metros; mass transit projects like All Aboard Florida, a privately financed $1.5 billion, 230-mile rail link that would connect the Orlando metro to South Florida; commuter transit projects in Charlotte, N.C.,  and suburban Virginia; and commercial construction projects including a new $861 million, 600,000-sq-ft. data center for the National Security Agency (NSA) in Fort Meade, Md.; Baltimore’s Harbor Point project,  which will offer a new Exelon headquarters; and the planned CityCentre and Airport City projects in Miami, which would attract billions in construction spending.
