There’s an interesting mix of projects now in the pipeline in this region, highlighted by two billion-dollar proposals — a $1.9 billion redevelopment of the Moulin Rouge property in Las Vegas and a $1.6 billion nuclear waste storage facility for the Navy and DOE.

There’s an interesting mix of projects now in the pipeline in this region, highlighted by two billion-dollar proposals — a $1.9 billion redevelopment of the Moulin Rouge property in Las Vegas and a $1.6 billion nuclear waste storage facility for the Navy and DOE. The $357 million Gaylord Rockies Resort & Convention Center in Aurora, Colo., and two $200 million-plus hospital expansions in Tucson, Ariz., and St. George, Utah, are the largest projects to break ground this year in this region according to Dodge. The region is also home to 10 of the hottest housing markets in the U.S., as measured by the Hotness Index, with three Idaho and two Utah metros leading the pack — Boise, Coeur d’Alene, and Idaho Falls, Idaho; St. George and Provo-Orem, Utah; Greeley, Ft. Collins and Colorado Springs, Colo.; and Prescott, Ariz.
