The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Department of Energy (DOE) named Progress Lighting, Spartanburg, S.C., the 2007 Energy Star Product

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Department of Energy (DOE) named Progress Lighting, Spartanburg, S.C., the 2007 Energy Star Product Manufacturer Partner of the Year. EPA and DOE gave the award to Progress for its “outstanding contribution to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by manufacturing and educating consumers about energy-efficient products,” according to a Progress Lighting release.

Progress Lighting is an Energy Star charter partner, and will be honored for its leadership in manufacturing interior and exterior lighting fixtures, ceiling fans and exit signs that earn the Energy Star mark.

During the past year, Progress Lighting's commitment to energy-efficient lighting was demonstrated by significant product development efforts to support California's Title 24 energy legislation and the introduction of its residential LED lighting product line, EVERLUME, as the first comprehensive residential solid-state lighting package.

“Partners like Progress Lighting have had an outstanding year in helping consumers help themselves,” said Bill Wehrum, acting assistant administrator for EPA's Office of Air and Radiation. “In addition to leading the way in manufacturing products that earn the Energy Star, Progress Lighting also works to educate consumers about the importance of energy efficiency. These efforts are a win for consumers and for the environment.”
