EW recognizes Shaffer-Nelson’s Adams & ElectroTech’s Starkman with GEM Awards at NEMRA Annual

Kevin Adams of Shaffer-Nelson, Lake Oswego, Ore., and Jeff Starkman, ElectroTech, Minneapolis won Electrical Wholesaling’s GEM Awards for Independent Manufacturers’ Reps. EW Chief Editor Jim Lucy presented the awards to Adams and Starkman at last week’s annual conference of the National Electrical Manufacturers Representatives Association (NEMRA) in Atlanta.
Shaffer-Nelson’s Adams won the GEM Award for his years of service to the Pacific Northwest’s electrical industry and innovative management style, and Starkman won the GEM Rising Star Award, which EW presents each year to a rep whose early careers and industry contributions show promise of leadership. EW has been presenting the GEM Awards each year at NEMRA since 1989. The awards were established in honor of George Ganzenmuller, who was chief editor of Electrical Wholesaling magazine for more than 30 years, and championed the role of the rep in the magazine’s editorial pages for over three decades.
